About Me
Hi, I’m Ana Galban Leon
I am the founder of Galena Psychology. My passion for psychology was sparked at a very young age, after undergoing a transformative counselling experience that changed my life. This journey inspired me to help others experience the same profound growth that I witnessed in myself, motivating me to pursue a career in psychology.
Born and raised in Barcelona, Spain, I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Blanquerna University in 2016. After graduating, I travelled to Sri Lanka to volunteer in a mental health program. This experience opened my eyes to mental health challenges in non-Western cultures and ignited my interest in Eastern philosophies.
Following my time in Sri Lanka, I journeyed to India, where I deepened my meditation practice and completed my first Vipassana retreat. This transformative experience brought me closer to my spirituality and provided profound insights into the complexities of human nature.
Since relocating to Australia, Melbourne has been my home for the past eight years, where I completed my Master's at the Cairnmilar Institute and obtained my general registration in Psychology.

Why choose Galena Psychology?
Choosing a psychologist is deeply personal. You want someone who truly understands you, creates a safe space, and helps you navigate life’s challenges with warmth and expertise. At Galena Psychology, I provide a compassionate, collaborative approach tailored to your unique journey because I know the difference it can make to have someone make you feel seen and heard.
What makes Galena Psychology different?
A Holistic, integrative approach:
Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. I blend humanistic, psychodynamic, mindfulness-based, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) techniques to create a process that aligns with your individual needs.
A space where you feel Seen & understood:
I believe healing starts with feeling heard without judgment. My practice is built on deep attunement, empathy, and creating a space where you can explore your emotions safely.
Culturally-informed & inclusive therapy:
As someone from a culturally diverse background, I understand the complexities of navigating cultural identity, acculturation stress, discrimination, and belonging. I offer therapy in English and Spanish to make support more accessible.
Support for a wide range of concerns:
From anxiety and depression to relationship issues, trauma, and self-esteem struggles, I provide expert guidance to help you regain balance, process emotions, and move forward with confidence.
Flexible & accessible therapy:
Life is busy, and seeking support should be simple. I offer both in-person therapy in Brunswick East, Fitzroy and online Telehealth sessions, so you can access therapy in a way that works for you.
A commitment to your growth & well-being:
Therapy is more than just talking—it's about transformation. Whether you’re navigating life transitions, processing deep emotions, or working toward personal growth, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
